Starting out

This is it! After being cajoled, urged, encouraged and nearly threatened I've decided to start a blog. Why, you may ask? I can tell you that I'm not doing it because I expect some great following with hundreds of readers hanging on every word I type. This will probably not be earth shattering, (but notice that I left the 'earth shattering' door open by saying 'probably'?) but writing is something that breathes life into my day. It's a natural outgrowth of being a person who cannot get enough reading time. And besides, Stephen King said that if you want to write you should set aside time each day and just do it. So that's what this blog will hopefully accomplish in my life. If it turns out to be interesting, that's great, but it will definitely be cathartic. So here goes. No topic screamed to be written about this morning, just the undeniable urge to get started on the process. Perhaps later I'll write about the interesting 'end of the world' dream I had this morning. Time will tell, for both the blog and the end of the world.
